European Congress of URBAN Networks and Cities
'Acquis URBAN': From Vision to Action

The German-Austrian URBAN network, in co-operation with the cities of Graz and Maribor and with support by the Commission’s URBACT programme, organised on the 30th and 31st March 2006 the European City Conference entitled ‘Urban action: From vision to action’. After the success of the ‘URBAN Future’ conference in Saarbrücken in June 2005, this congress was dedicated to the preparations and concepts for urban actions in the new Structural Funds period 2007-13.
The Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Hübner, the MEP Jean-Marie Beaupuy, high-level representatives from the Austrian EU Presidency and the Member States as well as experts have been discussing the perspectives on future urban actions.

Das Deutsch-Österreichische URBAN-Netzwerk gemeinsam mit den Städten Graz und Maribor und der Unterstützung des URBACT-Programms organisierte am 30.-31 März 2006 einen europäischen Kongress "URBAN Action". Nach dem großen Erfolg der Konferenz "URBAN Future" im Juni 2005 in Saarbrücken thematisierte diese Veranstaltung die konkreten Vorbereitungen und Planungen für Stadtentwicklungsaktivitäten im Rahmen der neuen EU-Kohäsionspolitik.
Auch diesmal konnten wir mit der EU-Kommissarin für Regionalpolitik, Frau Danuta Hübner, dem Europaabgeordneten Jean-Marie Beaupuy sowie weiteren hochrangigen politischen Vertretern und Experten ein äußerst interessantes Programm anbieten.
